Online & Multimedia Art
Some great websites that I've found while surfing the net:
✯ StumbleUpon is a great website for everyone. You first have to input your interests and after clicking the "Stumble" button, you are directed to a site that may be of interest to you. https://www.stumbleupon.com/login
✯ A great website to find beautiful art of many media is called http://www.deviantart.com This site is a community that share art within the community and the whole web. Some artists put their work up for sale on the site and many have a growing fan base.
✯ A quick way to tune your guitar is with the help of this interactive, online guitar/bass tuner http://www.gieson.com/Library/projects/utilities/tuner/ It also contains a metronome and pitch pipe for other instruments.
✯ For a free, large online stopwatch, I use http://www.online-stopwatch.com/ It is convenient, visible from a distance away from the computer and can be very useful.
✯ The world's cheapest computer, the RasberryPi, costs around thirty dollars and runs Linux software. Their mission is to encourage programming education worldwide and to encourage creativity http://www.raspberrypi.org/ It is for sale on many websites and only needs a keyboard, monitor, and mouse to run.
✯http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/student is a collection of tasty, cheap recipes... perfect for a university student living on their own.
✯ http://www.progressiveboink.com/2012/4/21/2912173/calvinhobbes Jon Bois comments on the comic, "Calvin and Hobbes" and provides 25 strips. Calvin and Hobbes is an hilarious, beautifully drawn series that provides great commentary on contemporary life (even though the series is a couple of decades old already!)
✯ My personal favourite form of art is drawing and rendering. I am also very fond of a multimedia platform of drawing which is called Photoshop. Photoshop, or any other digital manipulation program is great fun because it allows you to create literally any visual image in your mind. You are given a plethora of tools to choose from and the possibility of downloading other brush sets, fonts, etc. online to expand your toolset-- the possibilities are truly endless!
